The Musée Jacquemart-André is devoting a brand new exhibition to Georges de La Tour (1593-1652), offering a fresh look at the rare, luminous work of one of the greatest French painters of the 17th century.
Following the success of its exhibitions featuring Caravaggio (2018) and Artemisia Gentileschi (2025), the Musée Jacquemart-André is continuing its exploration of the masters influenced by the Caravaggio revolution by showcasing the work of Georges de La Tour (1593-1652). This retrospective will be the first devoted to the artist in France since the historic exhibition at the Grand Palais in 1997.

The Jacquemart-André museum, owned by the Institut de France, presents collections of art that are worthy of great museums in a magnificent Second Empire mansion. Often compared to the Frick Collection in New York, it has maintained its mansion atmosphere, which makes it unique in Paris. It offers a discovery of living areas of the 19th century: ceremonial rooms, monumental stairways, winter garden, private apartments, etc.
Edouard André, 19th century collector, and his wife Nélie Jacquemart, renowned portrait artist, travelled across Europe and the East to acquire rare works of art and furniture. The collections brought together are some of the most remarkable in France: works from Flemish and German schools, detached frescoes, refined furniture and tapestries also find their place on the ground floor of the house. But Nélie Jacquemart devoted most of her attention to the Renaissance period in Florence and Venice. In fact, the first floor is devoted to Italian art during this period.
Among must-see works of art, you will be able to admire paintings of Canaletto, François Boucher, Jean Siméon Chardin, Rembrandt, Louise-Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun, Jacques-Louis David, Antoon Van Dyck, Jean-Honoré Fragonard, Sandro Botticelli, Paolo Uccello, or Giovanni Bellini, among others.
